title = "Application of low-dimensional modeling techniques to an axisymmetric jet with time-resolved PIV",
abstract = "The primary research effort focuses on simultaneous time resolved measurements of the velocity, near-field pressure and far-field pressure regions of a Mach 0.6 jet. Proper orthogonal decomposition is used as a means of extracting coherent structures. The time dependent modes are then correlated with the far-field pressure to identify the low order POD modes that have the strongest correlation with the acoustic field. It was found that POD modes 6 and 14, evaluated in the region just after the collapse of the potential core have a 10% correlation with the microphone at 15° with respect to the jets axis.",
