title = "Application of the extended fuzzy pointing set to coin grading",
abstract = "Recent work has focused on the application of an extension to the fuzzy pointing set in artificial intelligence [6], [7]. One of the earliest applications of the extended fuzzy pointing set involved the processing of images where star values are used in representing pixels with no grey-value assigned [6]. This approach is useful in robotics where a damaged or spurious sensor may be producing data without enough reliability to be considered in the fuzzy range. While an automated coin grading system could utilize extended fuzzy pointing sets in the optics - image processing and pattern recognition, we will use these sets and induced algebraic properties in the associated expert system.",
