Abstract

The application of accelerated growth production practices to American chestnut is discussed. The accelerated system consisted of stratifying the seeds, planting them into deepots under greenhouse condition and transplanting the seedlings into larger containers or directly into the field. It is found that accelerated growth system can be successfully used in chestnut seed propagation.
