Abstract
Explores the compatibility of the ethical guidelines of the American Psychology Association and play therapy practice. By applying the section of the ethical guidelines specific to therapeutic conduct, the author describes how these ethical guidelines relate to play therapist behavior, with specific focus on non-directive play therapy. Suggestions are made for creating a set of guidelines that may more appropriately outline the basic ethical conduct of play therapy practice.
