Abstract

The CMA-ES method is applied directly to the constrained satellite reorientation problem. This method is shown to give a very good approximate optimal solution to the constrained problem. The paper examines the performance for the constrained problem, and considers a modification that removes the eigendecomposition step in the early stages of the iteration to achieve greater computational speed.
