Abstract

An arbitrary high order discontinuous Galerkin time domain method is proposed for periodic structure analysis. Periodic boundary conditions are implemented to efficiently truncate the computational domain by using a transformed field variable approach. An arbitrary high order scheme is presented for the time integration of the transformed semi-discrete discontinuous Galerkin system. The accuracy and capability of the proposed method are demonstrated by analyzing the electromagnetic scattering from an infinite dielectric slab under both normal and oblique incidence illumination.
