title = "Are the fractal characteristics of soot constant?",
abstract = "Soot primary particle and structure parameters in a nonsooting laminar ethylene diffusion flame are determined from three light scattering measurements and one extinction measurement. Experimentally determined values for the fractal dimension and theoretically calculated values for the pre-factor are used in the analysis. The values obtained for the fractal dimension and albedo suggest that smaller aggregates are present at lower elevations, consequently a logarithmic series distribution function is used to represent these aggregates. Primary particle diameters compare well with ex-situ measurements of previous studies and reasonable results are obtained for the soot structure in the lower regions of the flame.",
