Abstract

This paper introduces the six papers in the special issue on e-leisure. It begins with a précis of Dennis Gabor’s thoughts in 1963 regarding technological growth and the Age of Leisure. Building from those thoughts, this introduction briefly describes each of the papers in this issue. The paper then concludes with observations about Gabor’s thoughts in relation to the papers in the special issue, as well as the general topic of technology and e-leisure.
