Arthritis caused by unidentified gram-positive rods in a child with acute lymphocytic leukemia

Abstract

A 12-year-old girl with refractory acute lymphocytic leukemia developed arthritis owing to an unidentified gram-positive Corynebacterium-like rod. The infection responded to amoxycillin therapy, but death ensued owing to the underlying leukemic condition.
