Abstract
An Associated Solution Model is presented for calculating the temperature and composition derivatives of the Gibbs energy for a binary compound-forming mixture. The model is an extension and generalization of the Sommer Associates Model. Expressions for calculating the enthalpy of mixing and the Darken stability function are given. The procedure is outlined for calculating any order temperature or composition derivative of the Gibbs energy. Examples of the functional form of the equations are given with parameters from the magnesium-tin system.
