Abstract

The interplay of spatial and temporal periodicities in a cholesteric liquid crystal is responsible for the three zones into which axial propagation may be classified. Each of the three zones is marked by specific attenuation and handedness characteristics. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
