N2 - Digital repositories are an important tool for the preservation of academic resources in digital format. Submission of items to digital repositories is mainly performed through Web forms which are filled and submitted by human archivist. Submitting a large number of items through Web forms proves to be highly unpractical and time consuming since items should be submitted one item at a time. To address this problem, an approach to automate the submission process of digital resources to digital repositories is proposed. In this approach, metadata about the items stored in spreadsheets are mapped to objects representing digital repository constructs, which are then automatically submitted to a digital repository by means of Web API. The benefits include the simplification of the submission process, the conservation of business resources, and the elimination of redundancy in business operations.
