Abstract

In this paper we described an automatic segmentation and visualization method for MRA volume used to image-guided neurosurgery. This method integrated anisotropic diffusion filter, statistical threshold, mathematical morphological operations, and active shape model (ASM) driven by an euclidean distance field of image edge. Several MRA volume datasets have been used to test the proposed algorithm, experimental results showed that the method was effective and robust with intensity in-homogeneities.
