Axial excitation of tightly interlaced chiral sculptured thin films: "averaged" circular Bragg phenomenon

Abstract

Interlaced chiral sculptured thin films (STFs) are proposed. The main spectral feature - the circular Bragg phenomenon - of the axial excitation response of a tightly interlaced chiral STF is shown to be an "average" of the same features individually displayed by the constituent chiral STFs.
