Abstract
The findings on hydrogen production from a recent DOE sponsored workshop on hydrogen production, storage, and use were presented. The development of large scale, cost-effective, and sustainable hydrogen production methods poses many technical challenges. Basic research needs in the context of the scale of the problem, current methods of hydrogen production and the timeline for implementation of hydrogen as an energy currency for transportation, and other uses were considered. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 227th ACS National Meeting (Anaheim, CA 3/28/2004-4/1/2004).
