Abstract
In this chapter, Dr. Harbaugh provides essential evidence for residents that can be used throughout their careers. Good character-what you do when you think no one is looking-is essential. A surgeon should not focus solely on operative skills and forget what it means to be a good doctor. The best neurosurgeons are confident, but humble individuals. Always remember why you wanted to be a neurosurgeon and acknowledge the privilege that you have been deemed.
