Abstract

Behavioral medicine is a multidisciplinary field that integrate, behavioral, psychological, sociological, and biomedical science, knowledge and techniques to better understand and treat health and illness. Behavioral medicine examines the influence of multiple pathways to disease that operate within and across individual, group, and societal levels. The goals of behavioral medicine are to provide comprehensive care that includes prevention of disease and promotion of health, better diagnosis and treatment of illness, and enhanced rehabilitation and recovery following disease.
