Abstract
We previously reported that the nanogel of cholesterol-bearing pullulan (CHP) served as a promising carrier for proteins and hydrophobic drugs. In this study, we developed biodegradable hydrrogel with nanogel cross-linked structure (CHPA-PEOSH gel) for tissue engineering. CHPA-PEOSH gel was prepared by Micheal addition of acryloyl group-modified CHP (CHPA) and mercapto group-modified polyethylene oxide (PEOSH). This hydrogel degraded more rapidly in 10% serum-containing medium than in phosphate buffered saline. CHPA-PEOSH gel is a promising candidate as an artificial extracellular matrix for long-term drug release.
