Abstract

The objective of this investigation was to determine if the stresses on the musculoskeletal system based on static biomechanical analysis are a reasonable approximation to the stresses based on dynamic biomechanical analysis. A secondary objective of this study was to compare the dynamic lifting strength (maximum acceptable weight) with the predictions based on a static biomechanical model and with isometric lifting strengths.
