Brillouin-scattering determination of vibrational relaxation in dichloromethane

Abstract

A Brillouin-scattering experiment was performed on dichloromethane to investigate the vibrational relaxation in the liquid. A comparison of the experimental results with theoretical predictions indicates that there is a single relaxation of all but the lowest-frequency vibrational mode.
