Abstract
The effects of electricity on metallic test of material properties of the material such as aluminum, hot rolled steel, and stainless steel were investigated, to broaden the scope of a material science course. The goal of laboratory experiments, is to expose students to various techniques by which material properties are obtained and to help the students understand various factors which influence these properties. The hardness of a material provided quick insight into strength and wear resistance of material without requiring a lengthy testing time. The results show that students involved with designing the apparatus and conducting the experiments provided very favorable feedback regarding value of laboratory experiment.
