Abstract

The existence of collision orbits in the vicinity of the distant retrograde region is well documented in works involving satellite capture. This study uses the orderly arrangement of collision regions and a dynamical analysis to calculate transfer families to periodic distant retrograde orbits. The work provides a systematic procedure to produce transfer families, providing an alternative to other methods and a framework in which to understand the design space.
