Abstract
A patient with a Candida parapsilosis infection about a prosthetic total hip joint was successfully managed by removing the prosthetic components and bone cement, administering amphotericin B and 5-fluorocytosine, and replacing the total hip joint fourteen months later. The joint was functioning well without evidence of infection two years after replacement.
