Catalytic alternating alkene-carbon monoxide copolymerization using palladium compounds

Research output: Contribution to journalConference articlepeer-review

Abstract

The synthesis of tactic and chiral alternating alpha-alkene-carbon monoxide copolymers is reported, as well as alternating copolymers of functional alkenes with carbon monoxide. The resultant polymers were optically active with isotactic sequences in the backbone. The participation of the pendant hydroxyl group in intrachain reactions led to the formation of unusual polycyclic repeating units in the backbone.
