Abstract

In this poster, we explore the relationship of Freire's notion of critical consciousness with critical and sociocultural theories for learning. Specifically, we use conscientização as a construct to co-design an intervention to raise awareness about the impact of financialization on small farmers' everyday lives. We draw upon qualitative data gathered with rural Colombian farmers to articulate strategies for engaging in co-design of financial literacy strategies for underserved and marginalized communities.
