Abstract

Recently, we reported that nanogels of cholesterol-bearing pullulan (CHP) modified with amino groups(CHPNH2) acted as a novel carrier of quantum dots (QDs) for bioimaging. In this study, we investigated the behavior of nanogel-QD complex formation. The size of complex and their internalization efficiency varied depending on the kinds of proteins conjugated to QD. Their cellular-uptakes increased upon the increase of the degree of amino groups in nanogels. The results indicate that nanogel-QD complexes were formed by the interaction between nanogels and proteins conjugated to QD.
