Abstract
Nepal is rich in cultural diversity but slow in its economic development. Its cultural diversity provides interesting opportunities to study childrearing and its slow economic development results in a great need for culturally sensitive research among Nepali peoples. This chapter points out ways distinct features of childrearing in Nepal. As a developing nation, Nepali scholars have a keen interest in studying all influences on children’s development, but also results in research evidence being limited. After summarizing the available research, the chapter addresses how Nepali and other scholars can collaborate to advance research on childrearing in Nepal.
