Abstract
New trends in performance based seismic design, alongside requirements for capacity design of members and connections, dictate stringent requirements on analytical tools for analysis of RC structures. Shear stiffness, strength and post-peak response remain a major challenge especially under variable amplitude reversed actions. This paper describes briefly two developments, on the member and panel levels, to allow for assessment of structural collapse by shear failure, implemented in the nonlinear dynamic analysis program ADAPTIC, developed at Imperial College.
