Abstract
Academic libraries provide reference and research assistance to both users who are currently affiliated with their parent institution and users who are not, including alumni and community members. This research looks at how U.S. academic libraries communicate with users about whether and how non-affiliated users can access electronic resources on entrepreneurship- and small-business-related research guides. Results of an examination of access information on 129 guides are presented, along with recommendations for more effectively communicating access information to affiliated and non-affiliated users alike.
