Abstract
The method described was developed for rapid measurement of type and degree of texture in metal sheet and plate products of arbitrary thickness, in rolling mill environment. The method uses a recently described impulse technique to generate and receive Rayleigh waves on thick plates or Lamb waves on thin materials. Examples of texture studies on titanium alloys are discussed.
