Abstract
The effective elastic properties for unidirectional composites, as predicted by several analytical micromechanical models are compared for glass/epoxy and graphite/epoxy. A brief review of each of the models is given along with the final equations in most cases. The results show that three models, the composite cylinder assemblage model, the method of cells, and the Mori-Tanaka method are consistent and agree with experimental data.
