Abstract

A new polymer poly left bracket bis-(methoxyethoxyethoxide)phosphazene right bracket , MEEP, was synthesized. It forms complexes with a wide variety of salts. The conductivity and lithium ion transport numbers for a variety of lithium salts complexed with MEEP are reported in this paper. For most electrochemical applications, a polymer electrolyte should have a high conductivity at room temperature. The MEEP based system exhibits room temperature conductivities which are 2-3 orders of magnitude better than the corresponding PEO based electrolytes.
