Composite-fermion wave functions in higher Landau levels

Abstract

The composite-fermion theory is generalized to construct wave functions directly in higher Landau levels. However, for electrons on the surface of a sphere, these are shown to be identical to those obtained by promoting the lowest-Landau-level composite-fermion wave function to the higher Landau levels.
