Abstract
The vibrational relaxation of molecules which were excited by using laser irradiation were studied by using computer simulations of laser ablation of molecular substrates. It was observed that the energy transfer from the hot substrate to the water film lead to the overheating and explosive boiling of a region of the film adjacent to the metal surface. It was found that the energy transfer in laser ablation was affected by a relatively high density of excited molecules and complex dynamic conditions realized during the collective material ejection.
