Abstract
A modular system has been developed for the cost evaluation of power plant equipment for both conventional and advanced power generation systems. It can be used for the estimation of capital cost of individual pieces of equipment such as turbines, boilers, fluidized bed combustors, etc. as well as complete power plants. It has been designed for ease of use with existing process simulation and optimization routines. This cost evaluation system is illustrated by means of an example.
