Abstract
The computer systems continue to evolve at an astounding rate. In embedded processor arena many solutions are being worked upon for higher speed/performance interconnects. Reconfigurable computing has drawn much attention in 2002 where large size of current RAM-based FPGAs has led to their insertion into aerospace systems, enabling hardware to be designed once and then reconfigured to perform various missions. DOD initiated a $267 million program to accelerate development of radiation-hardened integrated circuit technology for satellite programs the goals of which are to achieve 0.15 μm radiation hardened technology by 2005.
