Abstract

This first volume in the new series Trends in Corrections: Interviews with Corrections Leaders Around the World presents interviews with 12 correctional leaders in nine countries. The interviews were conducted by accomplished scholars/researchers throughout the world and serve to present the personal views of those who lead agencies within the corrections systems of their respective countries. It is evident, by reading these in-depth stories about their careers and correctional philosophies, that there are striking similarities between the leaders, despite the vast differences in social and political environments in which they work.
