Topochemical reduction of CaEu₂Ti₂O₈, a new n = 1 mixed Ruddlesden-Popper/Dion-Jacobson phase prepared by divalent ion-exchange of NaEuTiO₄, yields the non-defective n = 2 Ruddlesden-Popper phase Eu₂CaTi₂O₇.
