Abstract
Members of over 100 families took a battery of cognitive tests as well as various psychometric tests of personality. Analyses showed that individuals' cognitive and personality measures frequently were significantly correlated. Parent personality scale scores were significantly correlated with offspring cognition scores, and vice versa. Multiple regressions demonstrated that fathers' personality test scores substantially increased the predictability of sons' and, to a lesser extent, daughters' cognitive scores.
