Abstract

Chapter 24 observes the impact of COVID-19 on the development of sport from a wide perspective, including high-performance sport, community sport and youth sport. The authors argue that while the substantial economic impact of the pandemic has been well assessed, what is less known are the consequences of the ripple effect through the broader sport ecosystem. The authors address these issues and based on their analysis, they present a roadmap for the future of post-pandemic sport development.
