Abstract
The self-nucleation and stable existence of nontrivial spatial formations (structures) in initially 'unstructured' media is one of the most fundamental problems and at the same time one of the most difficult in the nonlinear theory of nonequilibrium media. The present work concentrates on the discussion of the problem of self-nucleation and self-maintenance of localized spatial formations; and self-structures.
