Abstract

In this chapter, we summarize the topics from the first volume of the Handbook. Volume 1 covers three broad subjects: an introduction to organizational creativity, individual influences, and group or team-level influences. Chapters focusing on the individual range from processes like divergent thinking and idea evaluation to more abstract perspectives like meaning, morality, and ethicality. The second half of volume 1 covers creative processes and cognition at the group or team level. Other group-level topics examined include creative climate, diversity, and virtual teams. In sum, this first volume of the Handbook provides a comprehensive overview of the influencing factors on organizational creativity from both the individual and group levels.
