Abstract
This chapter highlights the essential role of school-based healthcare providers in supporting children with cystic fibrosis. Through three case studies, we illustrate these students’ challenges in managing their disease while navigating daily routines. We underscore the importance of adherence to medical therapies, the influence of social dynamics on health outcomes, and the emotional struggles. Optimum disease outcomes can only be achieved through collaboration among families, schools, and healthcare teams and by creating individualized care plans. We advocate for the involvement of school-based providers to ensure medical adherence, fostering peer understanding. Additionally, we aim to enhance awareness of common cystic fibrosis-related complications.
