Abstract
The response of structural relaxation, specifically the self-intermediate scattering function over a given length of scales, to densification for four saturated hydrocarbon polymers was investigated. At higher densities, motion was slowed and becomes more heterogeneous. This behavior qualitatively mirrors changes in structural relaxation as temperature was lowered towards Tg at constant pressure.
