Abstract

For a research project involving simulated falls, a load cell capable of measuring forces parallel and perpendicular to the impact surface was designed and built. The loadcell was fabricated by an experimental machinist and strain gages applied to the sensing members. The design was confirmed by performing static calibration and natural frequency determination.
