Abstract
The control system for a portable micro-fluidic chip analyzer was designed, which performs a series of analytical steps ranging from sample pre-concentration, Polymerase Chain Reaction and Capillary Electrophoresis (PCR-CE) separation. The control system based on embedded 32-bit RISC microcontroller ARM (LPC2138) meet requirements of the constant temperature precise control in 3 temperature zones for PCR and high voltage electrical field control for CE. Because precise temperature control is critical, fuzzy immune PID control arithmetic is used to ensure the precision and robustness of the temperature control. The micro-fluidic chip analyzer also has matrix keyboard, small LCD displayer, serial communication unit, and capillary electrophoresis (CE) separation unit. The experiment result shows that the analyzer fulfills all design requirements and features precise PCR temperature control, extensive analysis software functions, high reliability, low cost, small size and is convenient for outdoor use.
