Abstract
A design paradigm for wideband circular-polarization filters realized as cascades of chiral sculptured thin films (STF) was studied. The design of a composite STF device to function as a wideband circular-polarization filter was also analyzed. The reflectance and transmittance of the designed composite STF device were also computed. The results show that dissipation must be kept to a minimum when chiral STFs are to be cascaded.
