Abstract

We describe the development of a multi-faceted metric for assessing soft skills of aspiring information systems developers who may become involved in team efforts to design, build or extend complex software-intensive solutions in organizational settings. The development involved a combination of meta-analysis of prior work, analysis of data gathered from novice systems developers, and coding by experts. We briefly illustrate how the metric and accompanying assessment procedures may be employed.
