    Abstract

This paper presents two new design techniques for adaptive equalizers based on a constant modulus error criterion: 1) the fast quasi-Newton CMA and 2) the conjugate gradient CMA. The algorithms for these new equalization techniques are summarized and their performance is demonstrated through computer simulation.
