Abstract
Chemical analyses and 27Al and 29Si magic-angle-spinning NMR spectra are presented for four sepiolites and a palygorskite (attapulgite). The results show that at least three or four specific crystallographically non-equivalent tetrahedral sites exist in sepiolite and that at least two such sites exist in palygorskite. -R.A.H.
